Left dock at 4:30. Started trolling several miles short and north of Washington Canyon. Trolled area for 3-04 hours - not a single bite. Decided we may have run over fish coming out so we started trolling in and landed 4 gaffer mahi between between the 40-60 lines - all taken between noon and 4 pm. Lots of life - spotted a dozen or more large whales (think they are finbacks) and lots of dolphins. Did spot a marlin or two in our spread and we think a large bigeye checked out our daisy chain. Mahi's were hitting just about everything - bright colors and silver, pink and blue skirted ballyhoos and islanders. If I could have gone today, I would have run to one of the Sausages and trolled out from there. Again, lots of life and water temps around 71-72 deg.
