I live in the Fort Howard/Millers Island area of south-east Balto. County. My wife and kids want to start running a trotline. I'm glad to hear this. It's a great family activity and I'm really looking forward to it. I would have thought finding a place that sells bulk chicken necks for crabing would be easy but so far I'm striking out. A little help would be greatly appreciated.

Richardson's farm on Ebenezer Rd in Essex has 40 lb boxes of necks for 18 dollars. I usually cut the necks in half or thirds and bag them in the amount that I need to bait my line each time.

Mars usually has them too. I live around WhiteMarsh and the Mars up the street has 40lb boxes for less than $20

The necks at Richardsons are so small that they must have snuffed them when they were still chicks !!

if they're too large in diameter is no good ....they bounce too hard on the roller and vibrate the line..........small is good

BOOO - now I'll def. be opening the box to make sure they are really "skinless." My last box from there seemed to have atleast 5lbs of skin still on the necks.

Weis Supermarket if you have one nearby. $18 for 40lbs and great quality. If they dont carry them talk to someone in the meat dept. and they will order you a box, 2 or 3 days to get in at most.

Yes Mars in Pasadena has raised the price and the quality is down. lots of fat and water. :nono: also the meat case has went down hill since they replaced, or moved some of the personel in the meat department
I am looking for a new supplier. Weize sounds good to me

I second richardsons on Ebenezer. I took the necks down to the outer banks in NC and slayed the crabs
Iget mine from Weiss as well and bag mine 30 to a bag for traps and also to replace on trot line
