I would like to know how many of the nort carolinians on this board fish the chesapeake bay and for what type of species?I do and i target cobia,flounder,spade fish,rockfish,croakers, and whatever is biting while im there. Cobia is by far my favorite.

No blue water like that in the James infact the water yesterday up here around Hopewell was mud color with logs and sticks bumpin the pantoons. We did manage to catch 4 cat's but no C&R stripers but it was a beautiful day out there and we didn't get skunked.
No croakers down on the lower James around Newport news yet that I have heard of probably be another 3 weeks or so . .
The ramp at the Newpoet News side of the James River Bridge is the best place to put in. See a lot of Carolinans there enjoy talking to them but my buddy PD from Roanoke Rapids who I used to meet there want make it any more he passed away last year.[angel] I had planned and looked forward on doing a lot more fishing with him now that I retired.
I'll let you know when the croakers are here. Keep the good posts coming on this board.
