I've had some really good perch fishing in the river, right up till today..
The river seems to have taken a turn for the worst - fished my most productive spot and got only a couple small perch. Granted, the tide was wrong, and it was pretty sunny out...but still... The water seems to be browner than it was just a few days ago.
After trying a couple more spots, we ran out to hackett's and used cut bait/fishbites and only got a couple out there. We saw a bunch of dead alewives out there in the bay. There was also a sailboat racing going right around the green can at hackett's...what a cluster...!
Some guys were catching perch pretty regular out there...I'm guessing they were using worms/bloodworms. Maybe cut bait doesn't work real well for perch?!?
