Made it out in a stiff E'ly wind on Thursday, trip offshore trip Ive done for tuna, caught 1 skipjack, lost 1 Albie at the boat (Ballyhoo rigging malfunction) and caught a 6ft bull shark on a short drift during the middle of the day. Clean water, 74-77degrees, no grass seen all day.

Ride back was worst Ive ever had on my 23Sailfish, 50miles in with 5-6' seas on the stbd qtr with a period of about 5-6seconds......I will NEVER go out in an E'-NE'y wind again!!!

Glad i did it, hope to try agian next weekend.

(Learned a heard lesson on flat lines and the importance of rubber banding them to the cleats.....I never would have imagened 4 lines could twist that much, that fast.......lessons learned!!!)

I found the motherload of tunas yesterday east of you but I could not stay and fish since it was so nasty for a 27 ft boat but we lucked out with a yellowfin and 3 gaffers. I would say they where easy 5-7 feet by 1pm:eek:

Yeah we really wanted to head out to the fingers & 50ftm curve, but i just couldnt do it with that weather, so we did our shark drift instead, we even stayed for a late troll around 5pm, started heading in around 6pm made it back around 830 to Little Creek, it was a miserable ride and a lot of work on my part staying on the throttles and the wheel. As much as I love the fact my little Sailfish 2360 rides good....I need to constantly remind myself its ONLY a 23 foot boat!!

Hoping to try again next weekend.

NE east sucks I was out there in the washington, 1 gaffer 4/7 yellowfin tuna to 50#s and 5 bonita done at 12:30 as I knew it was going to be a shitty ride in. almost threes hours to get in and that was me taking a major ass whopping in a 25 contender nice ride out there though made 35-38 knots the whole way out.

That is a trick post,

The thrill of catching a white with the agony of no meat. Just a thought…
