Does anyone have any information on the interance to Deep Creek off the Rappahanock river. Water depth, markers etc. I draw about 2 ft. 11 inches in my boat. Thinking about taking my boat there for the seafood festiful in Sept. Thanks

I've lived on Deep Creek for the past ten years, and yes, it's not too tricky an entrance but with 2'11" draft (assuming a straight inboard) it would be tide dependant. If you have an outboard you can trim it up to reduce draft. From the Rapp. follow the red markers in, staying near them. After the turn at the last red marker aim for the middle of the creek, NOT the green marker which will be ahead and left, off the boat ramp. Deepest water is in the middle of the creek, 5' -6'. The channel in from the Rapp holds 3'+ at all but the most extreme fall low tides. There is a shallow spot just after the red marker by the rock jetty at creek entrance (2 1/2' - 3'). I don't mean to scare you off--it's an easy entrance once you know it. I take it at 25knots in my outboard powered CC at all but the worst low tides. If you 'd like more info, PM me w/ your phone number and we can talk it over.
