I have an OK Prowler Trident 13 Angler Handles the bay amazingly, the chop, the boats and the fish.

I would suggest trying a few out. I fish a Wilderness Systems Pungo. They have changed over the years a little and are great for duck hunting, rivers and calm water in the bay or ocean. If you are talking big water fishing this is probably not your best choice. If you want a versatile light weight boat I would recommend you take a look at a Pungo.

You want to fish in the bay? Read this thread throughly

http://www.tidalfish.com/forums/kayak-fishing-anglers/266692-kayak-re-entry.html

If you come to SPSP on Aug 8 (sat), I will bring an extra kayak you can use for fishing (you need the MD or VA tidal water license). Also you can try my new Hobie Adventurer. And I will explain hull designs and characteristics (stability during th eentry) of various hulls. It's not just length and width. It is where the buoyancy is on a kayak (distribution of buoyancy).

In general, 15-16 foot narrow (27 - 28" beam) kayaks are more stable than 12-13' wider (29-30" beam) for regular person. There are short (12-13') and extra wide (33-34" beam) kayaks. They are stable but slow.

Stability while sitting on a kayak and Stability during the re-entry are two different things.

Don't just buy a kayak. You must do water test including self rescue.

Used Hobie Mirage Kayak! Pedal and paddle model. A rare find, especially at this price! Compare to new from $1899-$2499! Kayak is "tangerine" in color and in great shape. Some surface scratches on the bottom but they don't interfere with performance. Includes pedal system, paddle and paddle guard. E-mail or call 856-534-4430. Serious inquiries only by phone.
