Hello all -

Just introducing......i'm usually found lurking around the main forum. Light tackle spinning enthusiast.

A couple of weeks ago i went out with a buddy and a guide specifically aiming to learn about the fly rod. I only brought 1 spinning rod with me and i never picked it up all day. Throughout the whole day, i only managed to land 2 small stripers but that was all it took.

I have already been shopping for my outfit. I have since bought a 9wt rod, and am waiting for the other components to complete my setup.

Last night i was on the water with a buddy. I used his 8wt setup to land a couple of love point dinks.

I think from here on out, i will keep a flyrod on the boat with me! This year i will be CBBT bound with a flyrod in hand. I want to land a biggun!!!

That's great Mike. Flyfishing is a blast. Just wait until the fall when the stripers are breaking all over. You'll have a lot of fun with that flyrod!

Maybe it doesn't happen all that often - but occasionally you'll outfish the guys pitching heavier tackle. That's fun! Being able to present light-weight flies gives us fly fishers a lot more flexibility to find what the fish want to eat - be it "matching the hatch" (i.e. trying to imitate the bait as accurately as possible iwth the fly) or using a more generic attractor.

Welcome!
