I went down to Hatteras on the 4th and took the boat (20')for the first time.
Tuesday was a beautiful day with a light NE breeze and we launched out of Teaches Lair. What a nice facility that is! Anyway we didn't really know where to go or what was biting so we just followed some other boats out of the inlet and started trolling for spanish and blues. We trolled from the inlet to the lighthouse without a single knockdown. Thanks to the NNE wind the water looked like the gulfstream within a mile of the beach.
We ran back towards the inlet and bottom fished on the outside and started catching small sharks, grey trout, croakers, and sea mullet with very few keepers.

We did hook up with something big on a live croaker on a fish-finder rig that bit through the leader before we could get it to the surface. I'm guessing it was a large shark.

Fished the beach @ Cape Point on Wednesday with a SSW wind and never had a bite.

All in all it was a good trip even if the fishing was slow.
