Went out this morning, 7/19, around 7:30 with 15 traps and stayed until 11:00 or so. I brought back six decent crabs, white bellied but hard. Threw a few females, smalls, and lites back. John

Holy Cow!! It's getting bad. Thanks for the report!! Are we sure the crab population is on the upswing?

That seems about normal for this year. give it another 3-4 weeks.

Middle River cover alot of ground by some peoples definition.
For the northern parts it is not poor......it it just too early.
I talked to some crabbers on the Bush who were coming in as I was going out to party with the floatilla..........................guess how many they got............0.
Man I wish I had the time to kill that some people have!

Last year sure was a different story, maybe all that rain in spring is keeping the crabs south.

I don't know if it's me, but middle river always seems to be the last to turn on compared to the Bush or the GP.......But when it turns on it is usually on fire. Thanks for the report.
