Hi All,

My 03 Sea Pro 2100 holds water on the deck and is uncomfortable at times. I plan to fish December at Kiptopeke and wet feet would not be pleasant, even with waterproof boots.

I know that water enters the rear drains and I use plumbing test plugs to stop this happening as launching and/or passenger weight shifts to the stern. Rain also complicates the problem. With forward motion, the water is exhausted as it should be. But without motion, it stays, and stays.

I don't think the water staying is normal, so there may be something I've missed. Sure appreciate any suggestions, especially from owners of a like boat.

I have 300 pounds of batteries in the console, a 300 pound bait tank in front of the console, and a several hundred pound T-top, and a trolling motor. I (200#s) realize that I've loaded near the capacity of the boat, but typically fish solo. I may be forced to buy a larger boat, but . . .

Much appreciation for any suggestions/help,

These scuppers depend on the boat deck sloping ever-so-slightly towards the stern to drain the water aft and off the deck. Sounds like the livewell, T-top and trolling motor added enough weight up forward to change the balance. Consider moving some weight aft of the console to restore balance.

I have used the white round rings with rubber flappers that cover the holes when water tries to enter on 4 different boats with good success. Can't recall the proper name for them and the boat isn't here. I prefer them over the ping-pong ball types as they seem to clear trash out better - cheaper too!!

I got the same model in '02 and not having that problem, but then I don't have a tee top, don't use the forward baitwell and mounted my additional battery in the back below deck. I suspect the weight distribution is the primary cause.
