Fished the Green Island Slough area of Oregon Inlet on Sunday Sept. 18. Anchored up at 9:00 a.m. and had 60 fair size spot by 12:00. Fished in about 22' of water. Earlier in the day I caught some finger mullet to try to catch flounder or drum but I had to give up and hit the old spot hole.

Heading down that way this weekend I hope to get into some of those nice spot and some trout and flounder. Did you have any problem catching the Mullet??? What did you catch your spot on?

No trouble catching mullet. Plenty around the marsh edges. I caught the spot on bloodworms and "Fish Bites". I also caught three keeper size gray trout on the bloodworms or fish bites, can't remember which. I think the mullet that I caught may have been too big for the trout. The mullet were around 6" long.
