I went out with my friend Paul and we fished the Rhodes in the morning in 5 to 9 feet of water with the bigger crabs coming out of the deeper waters. It was nice day with calm waters and almost no wind. This was my best effort yet. It was high tide and we caught our first bushel in one hour and twenty minutes. We used a 900 foot snood line to cover a range of depths. We caught another 1/2 bushel for fun until the crabs shut down around 10am. We ran into a nice fellow tidalfisher named FishSlap. We crabbed the same general area and I know he must have caught two bushels. We saw him pull up his lines and we were not fare behind him. It is nice catching all your crabs in a short time in the morning. Just in time to get off the water before the heat and sun kicks in.
