Okay, sorry but neighbor has some more questions I cannot answer...wants to know how long it takes by boat to get to these places from the Whitestone bridge / Rapp area...
He has a hurricane 25' inboard...

- to get up inside mouth of the potomac
- to go out to Tangier Island - you can do this right?
- to go out to Smith Island - you can do this right?
- to get to CBBT

Thanks again for any help...

With a boat that size he can go to any of those spots.. I highly recoment a GPS. It will give you distance to destinations or at least a good $50 chart book and a compass.

I believe all of those locations are approx 35-50 miles from your starting point. Watch the weather reports and fill your tank with gas! Time will depend on speed and conditions but 2 hours is an approximate estimate for the furthest point.

Based on map measurements: CBBT's High Rise or 4th island - from White Stone Bridge going by Sting Ray Light is aprox 44 miles.
Going from White Stone Bridge by Windmill Point Light, Tangier Island is aprox. 32 miles and Smith Island is aprox. 42 miles.

Thanks Capt Dave...

Has anyone made the trip by boat over to Tangier or Smith Island?....now my wife has been talking to his and they both want to go on the boats now... anything to be aware of or look out for or tips? Besides the obvious gas and weather...

Thanks again all...

Maybe I can work a troll into the trip out and back past windmill...;-)

No offense to the OP or his neighbor, but as a point of inquiry, are we talking about Hurricane as in a deckboat? Even at 25', I wouldn't be comfortable making a 40+ mile run down the Bay in one of those (I have a 24' SeaRay deckboat & wouldn't take it over to 42 or the Cell much less to the tubes).
