I ahve a 90 hp spl on the back of my skiff. 2 times ago the while out on the water the bulb was smashed. I undid the gas line and it release the air.

The mote is hard starting.

The last time out it was hard starting. Got it running but it kept stalling when I put it in gear. Again with the vacumn lock. I release and it ran. Pushed the throttle down and only got 2000 rpms out of it.

It stalled and wouldnt start back up.

Anyone know a good Johnson Mechanic in Baltimore area?

Any suggestions on what is wrong?

Thanks

Vince

Check the tank vent or anti-siphon valve.

Sounds like the tank vent isn't open.

replace the fuel line from tank to motor. sometimes a connector will be the problem.that was the problem with my 70 johnson

Could it be something clogged in the ball, like the check valve, or in the connector to the tank? Some rather small passages and a piece of recently replaced "O" ring would clog it up. Maybe the tank strainer?
First, go cheap and try another fuel hose and tank like TG says.
