Anybody know how or where you legally/safely dispose of old fuel/oil mix? Recently my aging Dad gave me his old boat & outboard, and it has a couple 5-gal tanks with fuel that is probably 7 - 8 years old.
Thanks!

Try going to a gas station or someone who junks cars. They have to remove the gas before a car can be junked.

Not sure where you're located. Majority of landfills and recycle centers in Baltimore County have containers for oil,gas and antifreeze.

They have a hazmat disposal at the SPSA dumps but some are only open on specific days. They say they take only 5 gallons of gasoline but I called first and they let me bring 15.
For larger loads, which wouldn't pertain to your situation but others might be interested, you can go to the companies that clean oil spills and pay a fee plus a per gallon charge. If they have to pump out your tank there's a larger fee, but they will do it from your trailer. Also US Fuels will pump, clean and return fuel.
Not that I would chance it, but yours probably doesn't have the E-10, so ironically the 8 year old gas is better than 1 year old gas! But you're better off tossing it.

If the gas smells like paint,,,dump it. Most
likely the tanks are no good either, probably have water
in them from condsetion and if they are metal they will
diffenatly be rusted.. My .02 worth.

all of the local landfills have safe disposal areas. they prefer you leave the gas in containers you don't want and they will take care of it.
