I have read tidal fish crabbers for some 4 years, attended a couple of snood fests, met some interesting people and learned quite a bit. I have been crabbing since about seven years old , hand lining, then traps , walking shorelines for soft crabs, then trot lining etc. My dad was great for taking my brothers and I crabbing and fishing. Some four years ago discussed with birchbeer about clams at one of the snood fest ( he may not recall the conversation ) about how if crabs would find them an attractive food source etc. Then I have read for the past two years about members using and being successful. Well yesterday my brother and I went crabbing on my 53rd birthday and let me tell you , you are never to young to learn!!! We used about twenty clam bags mixed in with our necks and absolutely killed the crabs!!!!! For my great brother and the tidal fish members thanks for all the great info and making my birthday one never to be forgotten!!!!

Roscommon,
I recall the discussion. They can be productive as heck at times and not so much others. Dale will attest to that. I am headed to the ES this a.m. I may pick up some razors on the way too.
HBD. Got your AARP card? I will be 50 this October (Halloween in fact). I am already getting lit on membership.
OK guys, come get me with the Halloween B-day jabs. I can take it.

GREAT POST !
I have been crabbing all my life, my grandmother used to live right on the Chester, between Winchester and Jackson Crk's.
My brothers and I are really into it thanks to Dad. My one bro crabs for a living now.....
I/we never stop learning. And I just recently became active in this board again... Been on since 2002, but drifted away but back now..... Good people and great networking !
HAPPY BIRTHDAY !

Roscommen, It was more like 50 clam bags on that 600 ft. snood line. I know because I baited and de-baited the line. Happy B-day bBro. Timbass
