whats running in april in the outer banks area using light tacke?i am looking to trailer my boat down your way for vacation and wanted to fish all week.

late april you should find sea mullet,blow toads,trout, puppy drum,flounder.its the beginning of the season so it could be hit or miss.hope this helps.

According to Brian Horseley (fly/light tackle fishing guide from Nags Head) April is the slowest month to fish that area. Brian says he tries to get out of town during April.

I would suggest bumping your trip up or way back.
I have heard the same about early spring........Slowwwwww.
