With an incoming tide, something like this...

Couldn't resist doing it... (again)

Seriously, with an incoming tide and a stiff west wind it could get bad, but not as bad as the opposite.

By the way... many men pursue an "Organ Inlet" and many have navigated Oregon Inlet. Both can kill! [wink]

This is what Devin Cage of the Poacher (runs out of the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center) said:

"If that West wind forewcast becomes a NW wind you better hold on to your hat! You get caught up that beach and it blows 30 out of the NW instead of West you'll have the fear of God put into you. Be careful in the winter when you have forecasts with 25 to 30 in it. That's a whole lot of wind and things go bad fast in weather like that around Oregon Inlet."

We are going to leave a day early and fish Friday. The wind suppose to be a little better Friday. If Saturday is bad maybe we will try some surf fishing somewhere. We got caught coming back in Hatteras Inlet during Sept and would hate to go through that again. Big swells out the ocean meet the out going tide 2 days after the hurricane. All the rain water running out. weeeee it was bad!!!!! Never again I hope.

Late reply but we went out that Friday and caught our limit of 6 fish in a short time off the research dock at Duck. Went surf fishing Saturday due to the wind forecast and didn't have any luck.
