We also caught 4 in the first three hours of fishing, and then 5 more very quickly, basically on the way in. I'm not seeing the dense bait clouds along the edges of the bar as in the past. So far, not nearly as many blues as last year either.
We wasted GREAT amounts of time this trip and last untangling/retying messes caused by ball bearing swivels that apparently don't turn as freely Year 2. Fixable; lesson learned.

Timber/Deltaville we were out there bumping around with you all Sunday morning. What kind of boats were you in? Silver caught the spanish for us too and gold caught the blues. We were the 27' Carolina skiff hollar at us if you see us. No boat name on the skiff but calling the Mister Js Pleasure will raise me. If the wind is 10 or less we will be out there Sat Morning with Josh, my brother and his buddies from SC.
Have a good one

I remember seeing your boat (Those Maycrafts catch my eye as I want a 27). We will hollar at you if we see you and we are on the fish from here on out. We had a 3/4 mile track that looked like a road when we finished that caught most of our fish. We were catching fish on it even after most of the fleet started to work a littler futher east. We also caught 5 to 1 better going south instead of North or any other direction. We almost got to the point of pulling up runing back to the first mark and dropping in again.

We caught through out the morning on planners and did well with 4 to 6 oz inlines early in the morning.

Bobbie / Timber - we're a 23' Parker w/pilot house. My sons like the name 'Rappaholic"; we've not agreed on that but we'll answer a call. Please do check on us if we're in the same neighborhood. When we caught several fish back-to-back-to back etc we were orienting east west (obviously, outside the conventional n-s traffic lane there). Otherwise there was no pattern to catching we did. We did have a 1st-time doubleheader: one fish came over the gunnawale w/two spoons in his mouth; one had been on a #1 planer, the other a 4 oz. inline which was out beyond the planer line (I think). This tells me there's something very badly amiss with how I've got my baits laid out but I've not yet figured it out.

We fished saturday and monday aboard the Just Peachie. .Older chriscraft scorpion ..me and tom speirs out of northern va/gwynns island. sat we boated 7 nice size all about 18" on saturday. went back monday and caught about 20 but lost all but 13...saturday was smooth...monday was choppy and we had many that got off. hot color was gold wwback and green up close ...all on #1 planers. good eating. we stopped using the 4 and 8 oz inlines on outriggers and went to 4 planers...only 2 bluefish all weekend...trolling almost 9 mph...cant wait to go again. The pirate ships were all over fleets bay and 2R on monday. we just trolled around em. I wanted to moon em but only gave them the Michael Jackson crotch grab. He He! Hay Bobbie. I talked to Mac Mcdonald on sat. he was comming down sat but wx man scared him off. His boat is at Dare marina now.. best wishes dave

Dave good to hear from you. Good to hear about Mac and Sherry thought they were still in Deltaville but good to know where their at. That Sherry's a good luck charm and can catch some fish. I've been busy but need to make time to get down Deltaville and visit some of the crew. Ive still got the Mister J's Pleasure and a 27 foot carolina skiff we play out of. If you see me out there give me a call.
