I am down here until Wed. doing my annual mobil service call for Buena Vista Sportfishing on thier Prokat we sold them 5 years ago.
After 3 days of scheduled maint. we decided this morning to go out for a half day to give the boat a shake down before the upcoming Charter Season.
We left the dock at 9am and ran for 30 minutes until seeing the color change that was holding depris and a few logs with lots of splashing nearby. We started trolling and within 15 minutes had our first Dorado. Went back to the same log caught 2 more gaffers and saw a Marlin down deep under the school.
Everyone says that the fishing this time of year is slow down here but it was an off the hook day!!
Final total by our 2:30 arrival time back to the dock was 9 sailfish bites/released 5,8 dorado's. 5 football black tunas.
Although the most exciting event was a 300lb Blue Marlin that came up ate our teaser 15ft behind the back of the boat then tried to ripe the outrigger off the boat before finally letting go of the lure.
All day long we were never more than 10 miles from land and 4 children ages 7-11 had a sailfish release today.
