I just wanted to share a pic from this weekends trip. It a 46" black drum that weighed approximately 63 LBS. Shot on the third in about 20' of water. It was a perfect gill plate shot so he did not fight very much. He gave me a good run after the initial shot but I surfaced and worked him up in no time at all. He subdued rather quickly and my buddy hoisted him into the boat for me. The best part is there were no parasites in the meat. :thumbup:Other than that there were a million spades out there but none I would call shooters. I shot 3 Tautog and 3 sheepshead. None really big but a couple were decent sized.

Pretty work on the Black one Special D. I've seen them out there plenty of times but I never had the right gun with me....was hunting Sheep& taugs.

Nice work! How was the water clarity? Every time I've been in the water there, the vis was horrible, just about bumped into the fish before I could seen them. How do you like the Mako suit? Sent Dano a pic, he would enjoy it.

Water clarity always sucks at the bridge tunnel but it opens up to about 4' on the bottom. The trick is to descend with the gun in front of you gripped at mid barrel and then when on the bottom you switch it to a "port arms" position so they dont see the speargun before you see them. I always descend with it in front of me because the bottom seems to come out of nowhere and the gun will prevent you from going face first into the ground or a ray. There have been a lot of atlantic sting rays near the CBBT lately and I even seen a spotted eagle ray last week.
The Mako suit is "top Notch" and Dano is a great guy, I support him whenever I can. I have worn the suit from 55-75 degrees w/ no problems. It is a 3.5 MM open cell so you need to lube up first to prevent getting small rips in it. The Drum was shot w/ a Dano built 80 CM double banded gun. The pic has been sent to Dano. I wish I could of had the speargun in the pic but that beast was heavy.

Awesome :clapping2: - that Drum had to look huge underwater.
