Worked #8, #6 and the bridge today. We were targeting flounder. We caught some short flounder, bunch of bluefish, young sea bass and an oyster toad. Were using a variety of baits including bluefish belly, bullhead minnows, and jigs. Lost one fish halfway to the boat that we were pretty sure was a nice keeper flounder. Hooked him at the bridge on a jig dressed with a gulp. Also missed a nice one on a bluefish belly. No keeper flounders. Disappointing day.

Got half way from Remlik to the bridge this morning and remembered my stickers had expired. Had the envelope back at the house with new stickers but just had not put them on the boat. I started to chance it but decided to go back and get them. Glad I did. As soon as I pulled up to the bridge the man showed up and promptly checked me first among the 20 boats on the Whitestone side of the bridge!. First time I had been checked this year. I had to pull my envelope out of my pocket to show him I had a good sticker. He did not seem to mind they were in my pocket on not on the bow. My decision to go back saved me a few bucks.

Smart move to go back to be legal. I'm sure you are glad you took the extra few mintues to turn around. I fished those areas saturday along with windmill bar for spanish with little luck. Only one spanish, couple blues and no flounder at all. One nibble but felt like a small one. I think the flounder are starting to fade away. Just my opinion, think we have seen the best already..

Slate Dog, we were with you today, think we were the 2nd or 3rd boat checked by the marine police. No keepers here either, just 4 shortees, bluefish, and oyster toads.
Which boat were you fishing on, we were on the open CC:sweatdrop:

Think I will get back on the spanish next weekend.

On the 22' Grady Tournament with the blue Bimini. We thought about heading down to the bar and while we had the spoons and planers on board we really did not have the right rod/reel setups. I think maybe you were right up on top of the pilings when he and his female partner pulled up on you. I am hoping the flounder stay around for a while longer. I am still trying to pull a keeper out of the river.

We managed one keeper Flounder on Gulp Bait at the Pickle Factory Saturday.
We started the day catching Spanish at WM Bar , but it got a little choppy
around mid-morning. All in All it was a very nice day on the Rapp.
