OBX 5/20 - 5/24

Bringing the Hobie adventure (kayak) down for a long weekend at a friend's place. Hoping for any advice on where to fish. I know that is right on the edge of cobia season, and am particularly interested in opportunites for them.

But general info is much appreciated.

Not much going on at OI at this time.
Bring a 25' or better and go offshore if the weather is good or head down (one hr.) to Hatteras, you will have better fishing with your Kayak alone the bank of the Sound there.

If you hook a big Cobia, you'd better have an EPIRB. He might tow you for awhile. Hatteras will be your best bet. The water is still cold on the main beaches. I talked with someone who looked for them last week-NO luck.

yep plenty of cold water--did not get hti scold all winter[sad]
