I have a friend in Jackson who works for Livewater properties, a fishing ranch broker, and he has access to many of their properties for sale. Yesterday we headed over to Pinedale to try to fish the New Fork. 35 degrees and spitting rain at 9 in the morning. There wasn't enough water, so we headed to another spot on the Green River. We couldn't get a single fish to rise, so we decided it would be a streamer fishing day. We really had to work for our fish. My friend caught three big browns and a rainbow, and I managed a cutthroat around 20 inches. I don't really like fishing streamers, I'd much prefer dry flies, but it was what we had to do to get the fish today.

The Gros Ventre continues to fish well as the river drops. Unfortunately some of the side channels that held bigger fish have dried up, so the monsters moved into the main channel where its harder to find them. I only have three weeks left, so I'm trying to fish as much as possible because I'm not sure of the next time I'll be out here. Still haven't gotten to Flat Creek, hopefully that will happen this week.
