We fished 2 days last week, about 9 miles off the inlet. My intentions were to find some seabass, but we never found a keeper, but the flounder were hungry.
We kept 10 flounder between 19.5" to 24".

Were the guys in the white and yello skiff type boat? I talked to you on Friday when you were coming in and saw you Thursday on the way past where you guys were fishing. I was in a 22" wht Mako CC. It was a little rough on Friday. We went out and got six keeprs. The breeze got better. had to leave the fish biting.

That was us. It was rough Friday, we managed two keepers in about an hour. BTW, nice boat....that thing cooks!!! I think you were back at dock Thursday and we just reached the inlet, trying to out run that storm. Do the seabass ever come back to those wrecks where we were catching the flounder??

Nothing to keep in Metompkin Inlet and environs Friday and Saturday, but we had NE wind so you couldn't get the magic outgoing drift.

Nice report. We were out on Monday & Tuesday of that week and did well on croaker on the inside of the inlet but only managed a couple of blues on the wrecks offshore 9 miles.

We do good on sea bass early in the year but not much during the summer. I just moved hear full time last year. Been coming hear for a week or 2 each year for abour 8 years. I just put a new motor on the boat and it'll run 50+. We just got a little of the storm we were both trying to out run. Hope to see ya out there again. If looking for other species, try spades or trigger fish. Both can be had there now.
