We want pullage and it doesn't seem to be happening out of Ocean City. Anyone have advice on where to launch and how far of a run it is to where the tuna bite is happening? I have GPS numbers but don't have my mapping software here at work to make guestimates.

80+/- nm from Barnegat.

95 +/- to the 100sq of the Hudson from Atlantic City Inlet where the big-eye bite is.

Thanks - that kills that plan (better than killing me) :)

I'm not positive, but I think Manasquan or Shark River are the closest to the grounds.

at the end of the ramp ... not sure that my tow vehicle would make it to the Hudson canyon:D
Shark River may be a little closer by water but Barnegat inlet is a closer tow for the folks from the south and there is a public ramp close to the inlet. Never been there just what I found when I googled NJ public boat ramps a while back.

A bigger problem than finding a ramp is where to park, especially with a trailer. I used to regularly use Shark River Inlet and a ramp on the north channel owned by Bry's Marine (a boat dealer). There are no "public" ramps, other than one owned by Belmar, NJ which requires users to be Belmar residents and have an annual permit. Truly "public" ramps, like there are in DE and south don't generally exist in NJ ... most are owned by towns or marine businesses and most have pretty crummy or non-existent parking. When I lived in NJ, we estimated the Hudson to be ~ 95nm from either Shark River Inlet or Manasquan Inlet ... never been there, since my boat didn't have the range needed.
Your best bet to go to the Hudson is on a charter, but that's outrageously expensive these days.
I think some of the places the CM boats are heading for BFT, like the Claw, might be doable by boat from OC

The BF at the claw is pretty much over, but there are fish to be had a little further north.
There has been a steady bit SE of the Glory Hole for several weeks.......mostly under fish, but lots of them. It is probably about 40NM from Manasquan.
I was strongly considering trailering my boat there, but it is to much hassle.
