Head out of the inlet and take a right down the beach about 10-12 miles and look for cobia- you can also go out about 5-6 miles offshore and possibly pick up some bailer dolphins

Sharkman... Start looking for cobia around the boiler. You can't miss it, it's about 2 1/2 miles south of the jetty. It's a rusty metal thing that about 100 yards off the beach. I saw some there last weekend. Have some bucktails ready, or maybe a live hard crab.
Catch'em up.

Just out past the "Boilers" is a NC artifical reel (AR-165)? it's about 2.5 miles off the beach and is marked with a yellow buoy. it's in 75' and consists of 2 ships, located to the south of the buoy. NC has several artifical reefs along the coast within a few miles of the beach. I bought a map from West Marine that shows all of them.

I believe there's 3 within 5 miles of the inlet , AR 220, AR 225, and AR 230 See the link.:

Oops, got my inlets mixed up. It's AR 160. Must be Hatteras on my mind since I'll be there in 2 weeks.
