I've had a boat for years (fished bass tournaments), fished the surf for years, but now I'm trying to combine the two. Will be fishing out of Holden Beach mostly. Have I got enough boat to go out on a slick day, or should I stay in the inlets and rivers (lockwood Folly & Shallotte)?

My uncle lives in Wilmington NC and goes 25 miles out in the ocean in 6 foot waves. I'd say you can go out in the ocean in your boat.
