OT - Rec Crabbing/shrimping

Been going to Topsail in July for a decade - Always brought a couple of crab traps. Last year somebody made off with both of them. They had clorox bottles for floats so I figure they kinda said "HEY! this guy don't have a license!. So this year my Dad got a rec gear license and it says you need a "hot pink float" w/ name, numbers.

I have never seen a hot pink float for sale, nor have I seen one in the H2O. It seemed like last year everybody and their brother had shrimp traps and it looked like they used red floats. Is the color that important?

I used to have the name of the tackle shop on the left across from Wings just before the beach road but I can't find it. Can anybody help me out? Thanks!

I had to get the "pink" floats. Got them from Mike Keller's (sp?) in Manteo. You can p/u or they will ship.

Just buy the white floats and paint them. That's what I did for my shrimp net... It had to have one on the tail bag.
