Knock Down Drag Out

I plan on taking my 18' CC boat from Virgiina Beach to Ocracoke next week and wanted to know what is the best thing to fish for this time of year? I also need to know what areas to fish? I was looking at my GPS and it looks like there is some nice deep water in the channel and a nice shoal back in the sound.
Thanks for any help!

Teaches hole is just outside and south (left) off the ramp and past Silver Lake, good drift fishing with clamstrips/triple jigs (pink) for trout. try behind portsmouth island for flounder. if macks are biting use small spoons between teaches hole and the inlet. i am going to give that area a try next week also. i'll be there sat - tues, gimie a shout i'll be on 68 "rickh". Tradewinds tackle is the place to go for gear, advise, etc... Good luck, Rick

How did you guys do??? I'm heading down mid August and am getting tired of fishing for throwbacks out of teach's hole.

Fishing was slow. Tried to get out of the inlet but there was no way. I did do a couple drifts but only got a small flounder and a couple small sharks. Teaches Hole was more productive. One of our guys got a nice 21' flounder drifting the western edge in about 20-23ft of water. got a few sea bass anchored close to the beach in 20ft, and as you know a ton of small croakers, small blues, and some assorted reef dwellers.
