After a week at the beach in NC with the family and three other families, on Sunday I headed to the bay solo for some sanity time. Headed out of Crane's creek at about 1:30PM and ran up on some porpoise playing around. Figuring there must be a reason they were so close in, I started trolling at about the GWR lighthouse with spoons on #1 planers in 22 to 28 ft of water. Came upon a half dozen other boats circling the area like a Walmart parking lot. Got into the macs and blues. Found it hard to drive the boat, reel in the fish, get the lines back in, but had a blast. Caught 4 nice spanish mackeral and 3 nice blues. Had a bunch get off too. Got back to Richmond Sunday night with a smile on my face.
