I use rotors as well. but I have them zip-tied in a milk crate.... That way my anchor line, chain and float all fit nicely in the crate and the two weights/crates stack nicely...... My brother showed me that trick...

I use a 10lb mushroom ancor on each end. You can get them from Wally World.

The 15lb river anchors from BP work good for me.

I use 20 lbs on the lead end and 10 lbs on the other end, I tried 10 lbs on each end but found we pulled the lead weight when the wind or current picked up, mine are barbell weights cuz crabbing is more fun than working out : )

I have 2 river anchors and then I add a 10 lb barbell to each works very well. For my other line I put barbells together with a eye hook/bolt through them, the problem with that one is it weighs 36 lbs. each You don't move those. Capt. Dale loves those.

We use PVC piping (septic system size - 4" i think) filled with concrete and an eyelet. I think it's been used for more years than i've been alive.
White pVC pipe makes them easy to see underwater, if its clear/shallow, and plus you can roll them where ever you want instead of carrying them

I've been using cinder blocks on my fathers boat which is much bigger than mine. A full size - about 38lbs I think and a half for the other side 25lbs. Work great on my dads boat. When I am on my little creek crabber - only 13' I can barely pull up the big block because you feel like you are about to fall in.... or I'm just weak... ha.. who knows.

Im comm. And use the mushroom or grapple style anchors from walmart on 2000 ft. Lines. They are vinyl coated easy to rinse off and last a long time. Not too pricy either

No doubt about it, those 36 pounders don't budge, even when you want to pull them up, instent HERNIA:eek2:
I perfer the rubber coated river anchors, sometimes I will lay one behind the other with a float on the back one. This helps keep the line tight when using a auto-dipper.
