When is soft crab season over?
I want to make sure I get (buy) some for the freezer before they are gone and I only buy them live.
Thanks,
Joe

Should be another good one around the 1st weekend in Sept.

Thanks for the info.
I always like to have some soft and hard crabs in the freezer. There is nothing better than eating a soft crab sandwich with a bowl of crab soup while I'm watching it snow.

if the weather holds good, there could be a late shed in early october. i have seen red sign crabs as late as mid october, it all depends on mother nature..the crabs know when winter is coming. as a hobby, i used to keep a log from one year to another, and if there were no white belly crabs by the middle of october, with in a week or so, it got cold. i don't know if this would ever hold up in court, but it was fun to compare from year to year.

Very interesting observation Rob.
The next full moon is Sept 4 it should be a good one.
If all the small crabs that are out there now make a Sept and Oct shed.
Late Oct & early Nov will have some Great Crabbing!
