I wanted to get a new deer gun. I have a good bird gun and low end 12 gauge semi auto
winchester. I have looked at the 870's pump but hear good things about the H@R ultra slug
20 gauge. Used is an option. any advice would be great. thanks

I have a h&r 20 gauge and it is great. Very accurate and are good at long ranges. A guy in my hunting lease killed one at 175 yds.

Check out my classified for the Mossberg 695 bolt action slug gun. The absolutely most accurate slug gun ever made. Do a quick internet search on it and you'll see what I mean. Better quality than the H@R and you get 3 round capacity in the removable magazine. I bought 2 so my dad would have one but we live in a rifle county and he never got to shoot it. I put a few boxes through it to sight it in. Other than that it's new. The one 3 round group I shot through it at 100 yrds. was under an inch for all 3 shots. It's scoped and ready to hunt. Even If I wasn't selling it the Mossberg 695 would be my reccomendation.

Don't own one but I've heard lots of great feedback. Seems like a great choice, esp. for the money.

I also have a H&R 20 gauge and killed my largest last year @ 150 yards. The deer folded up like a dove. The scope I have is a Leupold 3X9x40 VX2. I love the gun but went thru several cheaper scopes before getting the Leupold.

Are you sure it's still there, Russ? You might want to re-post it in Miscellaneous and take down the post for the Knight Disc Magnum (unless you have another one).
