We caught some big ones about a month ago near Grey's Pt.
I haven't fished for them lately.

had the kids square on some #2's with a few #1's mixed in last weekend. Near Deep Rock in 23'. Had to anchor 4 different times to get right on my "spot" in the GPS. Amazing that you can get no bites and then move 20 feet and catch doubles consistently.

Hope others had better luck today. I could not buy a spot between #10, #8 and in front of Urbanna. Strong outgoing tide and some wind made for a quick drift and anchoring didn't produce. Didn't see much on the finder. Beautiful day once the rain headed out.

Slatedog Dad's heath has kept me off the water the last three weeks. WE got Dad back home Friday and Hospice and Day nurses will be helping us out from here on out so I should be able to sneak out every Sat for a while. Want to thank you guys for the reports as I've been getting my fishing fixes off tidalfish. Josh and I plan to fish Fri and Sat weather permitting and will post on our trips. Normally the peak spot bite is around Sept 15th for us mid river but the big spot bite should have been ramping up this last weekend. Sept and May are my favorite bottom fishing months with Sept my real favorite as the trout bite should pick up everything is big and feeding up for the winter and there is no telling what you will catch. Ive caught both cobia and big red drum in the river in Sept.

Have a good one
Bobby

Our thoughts are with you and your Dad Bobby. I went through the same ordeal recently. We had no time to really prepare but you can never really prepare for these things.

I will be out there the next several weekends giving it a try. I think the boys will be down as well so they will be out too. We will be on the Grady 223 or they might be on their Key West Sporstman so give us a shout if you see us. We will post up the results on Tidal Fish. I am hoping to get a mess of nice spot for a fish fry and few beers with the family. By the way, if you ever need quick access to local weather data, local tides, interpretive buoy data, moon phases, on-line river charts, etc. etc. you can go to my website Lagrange Creek (http://www.lagrangecreek.com) . From time to time I also throw up a pic or two of recent catches as well. Good luck to all and hope to see you on the river.
