How far offshore is the hot dog from oc? Thinking of possibly planning a trip in late sept to try and land a tuna.. Is chunking the suggested method this time of year? Any comments? Thanks.. I have been offshore a lot but this may be my boats first trip.. I know of all the dangers involved before everyone comments on that i am mainly looking for some fishing tips.. Thanks in advance

The Hot Dog is 40 from OC inlet. AS far as Tuna I hope there around when you go because we haven't had a decent Yellow fin bite in two years. In sept your best bet will most likely be trolling. Most chunking is done in the warmer months when we have some tuna around.
Soon as I hear of a tuna bite, i'll be there.
