Had honored guests tonight fishing what most would agree was a nice evening. Tide was perfect but the fish where once again wonky. On and off was the bite tonight. But we caught some fish.
This is my last LGMouth trip this year as hear the monster catfish calling me north on the river.

Why so soon? Why stop now? I know you have those catfish trips coming but why not run both trips at the same time? Doesn't the bass fishing get even better as fall approaches? Especially near the creeks?
The last couple of days sure felt like fall rolling in. That non humid cool breeze caught my senses the other day and almost felt like I just did a shot of espresso or something. Arguably some of the best fishing of the year is almost here.
Nice fish. One of these years I hope I can get up with you down there. Good look on the next quest.

Well there are many reasons why to stop now. First and most important is the bite on topwater. This time of year as cool weather comes in and weather patterns come thru you can not count on a bite up top. I like to not take people out and make them dredge plastic worms for a few fish..
I know there will be evenings that will be fantastic on topwater but they are numbered and few. At least for LGMouth that is. Besides the catfish are hitting topwater now in the back creeks.. A sure indicator of time to move on.
Knowing when to move on is a hard lesson learned after 19 years.
Think of it as fine dinning experiance. Always leave the table with a sweet taste in your mouth.
