Offshore Hatteras 8-30 w/ pics

Got a last minute trip put together on the Reel Escape. Departed Hatteras Landing Marina around 6 am fairly rough until we got about 2 or 3 miles out. Found warm water around 12 miles out. Started trolling....got some life in the spread picked up one small bonita. That was it until about 9:30. Then fish on, nice wahoo in the boat, my first. Then it complety turn off.....Finally around 2:30 we pick up a nice bull mahi. That one got kind of interesting for a mintue, Robert is in the tower and capt. Rob is down below. Basically it was five greenhorns scrambling around clearing lines. Then it went totally cold until around 4:30. Trolling back home on a nice weedline, pick up a small dolphin, Robert wants to know is he alone, capt Rob regretidly said "yeah all alone.........no, theres a school". We proceed to bail 18 more. Probably lost an additional ten. Finally around 5:30 we pick up and head home. We didn't pull back into the dock until almost 8pm!!!!! Capt Rob and Robert definately went over and beyond what I was expecting to finally get us on some fish. I will definately be back for future trips!!!!

Nice report, I love to hear a report about a captain going above and beyond to get people fish. Too often it's only people complaining about a trip.

This was a walk on special $185 per person. Hell of a deal....well worth the extra drive past OI. Not to mention we left somewhere between 6 and 6:15 and I am pretty sure we had lines in around 6:50. Reel Escape Charters - Home (http://www.reelescapecharters.com)

Hey guys! You guys were an AWESOME crew! How about Capt Rob (nice T-shirt) with that gaff shot!!! I was worried for a second there......I was in the tower at the helm and he jumped right in, went to work and got that bull in the box........

Thanks for the props! We always work hard for our customers and do everything in our power to put fish in the boat....going the extra mile is just part of the day...it doesnt always work like it did for you guys, but none of our customers can ever go away and say we didnt do our best. I look forward to seeing you guys again......

We are in Hatteras until the end of October and then we head back to VA for Striper and Offshore Deep Drop trips!!!!
