Record Low Streamflow to Chesapeake Bay in March 2006

Freshwater streamflow to the Chesapeake Bay set a March record low in
2006, according to new data gathered by the U.S. Geological Survey.
Streamflow to the Bay averaged 515,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) or 333
billion gallons per day (bgd), which is about 65 percent below average.
If the low-river flow conditions continue, the reduced amount of
freshwater flowing into the Bay can impact its water quality, habitats and aquatic life.

The good news is that there's less pollution runoff during low rainfall. The bad news is it's coming. The rain will get here sooner or later, you know how screwed up the weather is around here...

If we don't get rain pretty soon the Blue Crabs will be at the 14th St bridge in Richmond like the were a few years back. I also remember at lot of unusual fish that prefer ocean water being caught in the bay, stargazers and such. Seems like it affects the #s of stinging nettles as well but I can't remember which way.

The bad way - We'll have nettles before the end of May at this rate...
