I am in the market to purchase a Maycraft and Eds seems to have the best prices around, would appreciate any feedback positive or negative pertaining to Eds marine. Thanks! Sean.

RUN don't walk to Chatlee's in NC. Great prices , no BS price . I drove 350 miles (passed right by EDs) to purchase my Sea Hunt 22 DC / 225 Yamaha four stroke . [grin]

I also have a bad taste in my mouth for ED'S MARINE. Yes you can get a good price but you will find that there are dealers that won't do your warrenty work if you purchase the boat or moter from ED's. I bought a boat from him and had to get the warrenty work from Cliff's Marine in Hanover. Call Cliff and he will tell you all the horror stories you want to hear about that Jackass (ED'S). The state should shut him down. I would love to see him go bankrupt. Please people STOP BUYING FROM ED'S.

You guys, who are willing to buy from Ed's, then take your stuff to a local dealer for (warranty) service should not be put out when you show up in June and want your rig back for the next weekend AND the dealer tells you he won't be able to get to your job for several weeks. Dealers who are straightshooters have a major investment and expect to make money on BOTH sales and service. The buyers who buy based on the lowest price known to man deserve to be at the end of the service line!
Believe me, dealers do prioritize based on how important a customer is to them, not just how urgently a customer wants his work done.

Yes I bought my boat and moter from A-HOLE (ED). And I was forced to go to another dealer because the A-Hole not only refused to do the warrenty work but also never filed the warrenty agreement with OMC. Now do you understand what my bad taste for the place is all about. The man is outside of the law. If you think ED's is a good place to purchase anything then you are either stupied or young and don't know any better.

Wow Feb 19 to Oct 20 [excited][excited]
Can't believe you guys are so eaten up with this Ed's place. Just go someplace else. People have been successfully sued in court for bad mouthing others on the Internet. Just simply say you personally had a bad experience and let it go at that. If there's enough people posting that way the message will get across.
Eight months of no post..............and it starts again....... [grin]

Purchased a 21 ft Sea Hunt from Ed's in April 05. Great boat, great price, terrible customer service. After the paperwork was complete, I drove the point home to everyone in listening range that their customer service sucks. Also, they did tell me up front that the sales and service departments were separate entities. And like most, I wouldn't drive an hour just for service.
Now need to just get south of Fredericksburg to do some real fishing!!

WildeOne is absolutely correct. I used to work for a dealer who put the customers that bought from him at the top of his service list.....they got the best customer service imagineable. The ones that bought from a competitor.....were on a different sort of list..... he didn't cut them a bit of slack......sometimes I think he actually padded their bill a bit.

Diggler,
This last summer I was in the same boat as you. In August when I pulled the trigger on my Maycraft, Collins Inc in North Carolina had beat Ed's Marine. For the same quoted price from Ed's, I was able to upgrade to an aluminum trailer, electronics box and a T-top. It was well worth my drive to travel south. They even called last week to find out how we were enjoying the boat, an unexpected surprise. Needless to say, I am very happy with my decision.
