Rod holder placement

I need some ideas on rode holder placement on the gunnel. I currently have one on each side pointing aft. What angle should the second set be on and how far up from the first set should the second set be? Should it point toward the front die or back?

On my 22' Grady the 2nd set is approx 4' foreward of the rear set.

With the rear set pointing directly aft, the foreward sets are probably about a 20-30 degree angle (imagine directly back is zero degrees and perpendicular to your gunwale is 90 degrees, so you want an angle closer to the zero degree setting.) Charter boats will have many many rod holders on the side and as they move foreward, the angle increases so the foreward set is actually 90 degrees. And I added an additional removeable rod holder to my gunwales inbetween the flush-mount ones.
