Do any of you guys add additional weight on your traps? I was on the elk on Sunday and the tide actually ended up moving some of my traps around even though I had plenty of slack in the lines.

Also, crabbing was tough on the elk over the weekend. Used 1200 ft of line in addition to 30 traps and had 12 keepers over two mornings.

If the current is bad enough to move a trap..... It will close the doors pulling on the float.

More weight is a waste of time..... move them.

Yep, can't crab with traps in strong current.

Probably was not the current but the grass moving your traps. I had the same thing happen to me up in the ELK. Every run I had 2-3 traps out of line. If it were the current I would suspect all traps would move. Lot's of grass up there.

More weight is a waist of time(been there done that) they are way harder to pull all day with the extra weight like they said just try to move them out of the current.

I have seen barrel/egg style weights attached to Ctpx doors B4.

Not sure if they aided in preventing current walk.
