Folks - Lancaster County is considering a proposal to enter into a public/private partnership to establish a public boat ramp and fishing pier on Antipoison Creek near Palmer, off Windmill Point Road near White Stone, Virginia. This ramp will provide access to the Chesapeake Bay from Antipoison Creek through Fleets Bay.

There will be a public comment session at the next Board of Supervisors meeting, 7 p.m., Thursday, September 24, 2009 in the General District Courtroom, 8311 Mary Ball Road, Lancaster, VA 22503.

Interested people are encouraged to attend this meeting or send correspondence to the Lancaster County Administrator at the above address to express their views on the proposal.

End of Antirap Drive...kinda looks like a "pelosi scheme" that got caught. Wouldn't do much for Merrill's boat ramp business farther up Antipoison (which the public has access to) and would do nothing to improve traffic safety on WP road. Try turning on or off of WP road with a tow on a busy weekend and you'll know what I mean. Would help D. George w/ a $60K+ x 20 year lease.

Another example of piss poor politics. The kids sure could use more educational tools in the public school system. Boat ramp ought to be the futherest thing from their mind!
