My biggest Flounder Ever!

Got this guy on Saturday morning on big a$$ live mullet in 8 ft. of water. 29" and 10 pounds 12 ounces. Never had a fish mounted before but this one is going on the wall! Only fished for about 3 hours and got 2 more at 19.5" and 20.5" (my wife and a friend caught those). Fished again on Sunday in the afternoon for about 2 hours and had 4 more keepers with the biggest at 23" by me on a live mullet again. I lost another monster on the previous drift cause I was stuck with a spinning rod and couldn't drop back quick enough, that fish almost ripped the rod out of my hands. They hit those big lively mullet like a freight train. I let the big one eat for almost a minute before setting the hook, couldn't even see the hook when i got him on board;-)

Awesome I just learned this year you need to let them eat. I got a 22 incher on sunday same thing. Its nice to get around that island aint it

Great job Lance!!!:bigfish: You are better off having that 1 mounted...the big ones do not taste as good as the 5 lbrs. That area has been hot all year but that is the biggest I have seen from that cut...dont worry, your "honey hole" is still on the DL as far as I am concerned, but next time try to not have the background in the pic:yes:

Yeah, I kinda dropped the ball on that one Rich, just figured that the season will be over soon and everyone will forget about it by next year. Plus, just cause that's where the pic was taken isn't necessarily where she was caught.....................................

Always worried when you fish....that why I am NOT fishing for Tog this year....no $$ for 2nd place and your crew always get me by a few oz's...You got the inshore tog dailed in and I would NEVER swipe you spot...I am usually with in sight of you tog fishing, but thats just not my style. I have a new plan for the stripers this year, and it looks like founder is out so you can have the tog division and I will take the rest of the $$$$$$$$$.

Sounds good, we suck at striper fishing and never win any money with the tog because we enter all the extra crap. I think I'm just going to put in the basic entry so we can walk away with some money this year. That way we can just fish during daylight and not even bother fishing all night, we'll see. Anyway, thanks for the common courtesy of not snagging my spot. Funny thing is, there are little spots all around there that hold big fish. I just REALLY like THAT spot;-) I think if I were to pull up there and someone was already there during Rocktoberfest I may ram them with the pontoon boat:D It's so beat up no one would ever notice anyway.
