How much air should I put in my 15" bias trailer tires? The number on the sides of the tires say maximum 65 lbs. That sounds pretty high. 35-40 lbs looks ok.
Thanks, Steve
if they are rated for 65 lbs you should fill them to near that #.
a trailer tire's max load rating is at the maximun pressure stated on the tire.
if you are only inflating to 35 lbs you are 50% underinflated.
which means that your tire's load rating is also lowered.
underinflation/overloading is one of the most common causes of trailer tire failure.

Causes them to overheat and go POP!
I run mine at about 5# less than maximum pressure.
If you run them at maximum pressure do not worry as heat build up from running down the road is factored into the overall rating of the tire.
