Well, Captain Pat towed the boat (29 Hydrosport CC) back to Annapolis from OC last Friday after fishing out of west OC since late May. The prep work is done so it is off to Hatteras for two weeks this Friday. Figures... the Yellowfin would make an apearance after we left, but a good season all in all.

Anyway, anyone heading down let us know as we will be fishing any fishable day and can always use info and/or buddy boats. Will be out of Hatteras Inlet and looking for meat. Looks like Saturday will be first trip so any advice on which way to go would be appreciated.

Good luck to those for the rest of the OC season.

We went out last Sat. out of HI several miles off Diamond Light Tower. We tried to jig for bottom fish and blackfin, but we didn't mark much fish. We ended up with only one BSB and a skipjack. We then tried high speed trolling for wahoo but didn't get any bite. It was getting pretty sloppy with North wind kicking up, so we ran inshores to one of the ARs and got some triggerfish, BSBs, etc. jigging. We marked some nice fish but only ended up catching undersized groupers and AJs. It's probably not the best time for bottom fishing in Hatteras. It seems like some charters do well with wahoo, but I am gonna wait a bit before I head out of Hattera again, since late Aug/early Sept. seems to be not very productive time there either jigging or trolling.

Thanks for the report. Pat and I fished today south of the rock pile from 25 to 50 fathoms with the charter fleet on a nice line of weeds, color and temp. First four hours four bite offs...frustrating. Finally around 2pm four bites with two wahoo and one sail. Two in the box with one hoo around 55-60-lbs...nice. Fishing Sunday and Monday if weather good and Pat and the boat will be here for two weeks. Anyone heading down let us know.

ps..Happy birthday Captain Pat. 35...wow your'e a dinosaur.

I may roll down there for some wahoo action this coming weekend. If you fish before then let us know some reports. If I come down there I will give you a call.

Wreck fished Sunday as it was a bit breezy and did well on trigger fish at AR230 out of Hatteras Inlet. Out to the rock pile and 84 degree water on Monday, but only had one sail for a few minutes and one wahoo in the box. Not complaining as the cooler is full of meat, Thanks Pat. Sounds like out of Oregon inlet is real good. I had to return home to work for a few days but hope to be back down Sunday - Wednesday. Pat will be down the whole two weeks and I will post for anyone thinking of HI.

I just talked to Pat and he did well with more wahoo this morning. He caught 4 in 2 hours and had to head for the barn due to the seas and wind. It looks as if the next couple of days ill be blow days. I also hope to get down there and fish with him.
