The weather has kept us from the edge and getting this system in truly deep water. So, I spent some time IVO Bloody Point in the 130 to 160 foot area. Running from my back yard, South Creek into West River we cross some shallow water at low tide. I thought I would have a look at the TM260 in the shallows. I did not expect the 1kw narrowbeam ducer do do so hot. You be the judge.

Above is the "channel" out of South Creek. I have to cross a ridge before entering the West River. It can be a tric at low tide. Below is good look at it:

There are a few wrecks/obstructions out that way in the deeper water. I spend some time working the TM260 and HDS10 software; trying to figure it all out. There are loads of options.

There is another obstruction a little deeper, but I have never seen much down there. I went over it with the 260 hoping to get something better. Not much there. Inthe left bottom lock window, you can see that I went over it twice, on different headings:

Amazing shots in less than two feet of water. Not many sonar units will do that. None can do it better than Lowrance Broadband.
I see you are using the "ice view" colors, me too. Very bright and clear. Just don't know what Lowrance means
by the term "ice view", but I like it! Auto sensitivity really works great.

Much better than I expected Cobb. I do like the "Ice View". I also have been using one that has a brown bottom, but the range of colors is not as great. The Ice View gives the widest range of colors from what I have seen. However, I recently launched before sun rise and the screen was so bright, even after dimming all the way, I had to select another pallett. The Auto Sensitivity is great. It allows just the right amount of manual intervention. So far, I have not had to use manual. I think I can go to +-10% which is a fairly wide range ofsensitivity.

The brown color bottom is very popular with the BaseBoat users. I think Auto Sensitivity will go to a plus 40%, not that you would ever have to use that much
except in some really deep water. Hope you can get in the deep soon and post some pictures. In a few months you will be able to see what those wrecks/obstructions
really are (Structure Scan).

Lowrance are excellent for shallow water which is why I junked my OEM fitted Northstar/Navman that could not bottom lock, for the HDS.

I only have the standard 80/200 skimmer and use the brown shallow water pallet as the deepest water in the ME Gulf 60ft and mostly 30ft coastal.

I've found a good range of colours are displayed and it's fine in bright sunlight, appols in advance for pic quality taken on phone camera

Capt. Ken

When I switch to 80kHz on the brown pallet in shallow water the colours lighten drastically and seem to give a better range

Steve,
I will give it a look in 50 kHz. I don't have 80 kHz.
