I've fished it a few times...there are some nice smallmouth in there. There are also probably a few muskies hanging around as well...I hooked one once while trout fishing right below the dam.
Really clear water...not the easiest fishing but a pretty cool place nonetheless.

Prettyboy Reservoir is a watershed used to supply water to Baltimore and requires a permit to take your electric only boat on. No permit is needed from shore though.
There are smallmouth, largemouth, walleye, chain pickerel, and other pan fish in it.
There a few websites that have more info about the lake if you search in google.
What J-MAN said. Boating at Prettyboy Reservoir is fairly restrictive. But I'm guessing you are asking about shore fishing there. I strongly suggest buying a copy of the ADC Baltimore County Map Book available at most convience stores. The reservoir is circled by many small county roads and a map book is extremely useful.
Theres good shore access at Beckleysville Bridge, Clipper Mill Road Bridge and Frog Hollow Cove. If you don't mind walking in a 1/2 mile or so, many of the logging roads going off these small roads will leed you back to more good areas to fish.
BTW, "Prettyboy" was the name of a favored work horse that died during development and clearing of the watershed of trees prior to filling.

Interesting history HJS. I hear the smallmouth fishing there is insane. Many 4,5 even 6 pound fish come out of there every year.
I've got to go back to the comment about the Muskie below the dam. Was that in the gunpowder? In the huge pool just below the dam? That section of river is well known for its trout fishery. I've seen hundreds of white perch just below the dam before and even catfish. Never heard of Muskie though. Definitely pretty cool.
