TF'ers

Went to Crab Alley on friday, had the whole place to ourselves. Ran 2 - 1200 ft trotline using chicken necks on snnods and ended up with 2 bushels of really nice crabs. The heavy rains, high winds and rough waters made for a very interesting and challenging day. We were soaked by 5:00 am. Ran lines from 6 to 14 feet in depth. Seems that 9- 10 ft. was the best. Water temp 68 - 69 degrees. We had a great time overall and I was supprised on how fast the water temps. are falling. I hope this isn't gonna be a shorter season.

Hay Scott,
I too was suprised how fast the surface temp has fallen from 74* last week to 68* Saturday. It dropped from 80* to 74* the week before and the week before that it was
85* Thats 17* in 3 weeks. It didn't go up that fast.

Hey Capt Dale-

Same thought the water temps did seem cooler the other morning, Hope we have at least 4 more weeks....

we have had a lot of rain to cool the surface temp. The water was 68 degrees on middle river Sunday at the surface, however I am thinking that the water a little deeper is still a bit warmer. I was fishing while my traps soaked and the WP I was catching were warmer than the surface water...
